New Gear by Matt Pham

I recently picked up an L plate for the D800 and Benro Travel Angel II. The Travel Angel is a serious upgrade from my previous tripod. It breaks down into a smaller and easier to handle size, light yet very sturdy and can even detach a leg to become a monopod. The tripod/monopod combo lightens the carry load. My initial thoughts on the Travel Angel has been nothing but positive. I'll need some time to put it through the paces and see how it handles in the real world.

The Walking Dead Escape by Matt Pham

There has been a zombie outbreak, the survivor numbers are unknown. Zombies were just everywhere, if you are reading this. Good luck and hope you survive this! Click on the photo to see my experience.

As a fan on "The Walking Dead" show, I enjoyed my experience as a spectator and seeing the show basically coming to life.

Spring Drift Session by Matt Pham

Spring has finally arrived and it's time to play again! After a long winter, it's time to get back to the track to drift.

I always love to see older come out and spend some time getting sideways. It's nice to see these iconic car come out to play. The AE86 is a car that a special place in my heart and Japanese classic.

Tires aren't the only causality at these events, cones are included in the mayhem.  There were a countless number of cones that were made roadkill. Most of them were eaten, spat out and launched in the air.

The Nissan 240sx will always be associated with the drift scene. But it's nice to see another Nissan family member get sideways. As prices begin to fall for older cars, I'm curious to see what will replace the 240sx as the cheap drift car. Could it be with 350Z?

Every event I have gone to, I have been in search of elusive shot. It has evaded me many times over years. But it all changed at this event, I finally got my tandem photo. Everything feel into place and came together.

Returning back to Import Face Off by Matt Pham

I've been going to IFO on and off the past couple years. It has been two years since I've been and it was nice to see how the car scene developed.

Aftermath of a drifting exhibition, the track it rough on tires. They don't last too long when drifting. I even got a chance to ride along and experience it first hand while drifting.

Where there are nice cars, models aren't too far behind. These were getting a glimpse of the cars getting ready to line up for a quarter mile pass.

Not too often you see a super car like this Lamborghini Gallardo doing some pulls.

There were a bunch of show cars, but the one show car that caught my eye. Wasn't much of a show car but a purpose built race car. The interior was stripped, rollcage and light racing seats. It also tugged at some of my heart strings. I have a soft spot for Honda hatchbacks.

Happy Mardi Gras! by Matt Pham

I took this while stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. A rare opportunity to use my camera while being in the car. This would be a complete image if there was a full moon off in the distance.
